Faux Jumpsuit I’ve Been Dreaming Of!!

I recently participated in a Secret Sewist event for Love Notions sewing patterns. It’s a super fun event where each Ambassador is secretly paired with another. You then Fabric shop for that Ambassador you are paired with and give them some ideas of what Love Notions patterns you would like to see them make with the fabric. You can check out the Love Notions Blog for more on that reveal if you want.

Skirt to Crop Top Refashion!

I found this skirt in July of 2022. I loved the fabric and thought it would make a cute top. The problem was it was a little too short to make the blouse I had originally planned on making. Then I remembered I had a dress pattern that included a banded cropped top so I dug it out and got started. Read more “Skirt to Crop Top Refashion!”

Sweatshirts for Halloween Costumes!

Halloween is a whole family affair in my family. The kids love it and look forward to the yearly shenanigans. We start planning it as soon as the previous one is over. So when we decided that our Halloween 2023 theme would be Mario Kart, my youngest son had his costume idea immediately planned out. We try to keep it simple while still maintaining the fun theme. I try to make costumes using normal, everyday attire patterns.  Because of that, most of the time the things I make for costumes can be worn long after Halloween is over. When I got word of the Sideline and the Tailgate patterns from Love Notions I knew they would be perfect for not just my son’s costume but mine as well.

The Most Comfy Button Front Shirt Ever!

I don’t typically wear button front shirts. They just aren’t very comfortable for me. Recently I have been seeing a lot of striped, oversized, button front shirts all over the internet. I’m not gonna lie, those look super comfy and I absolutely love the oversized looks I’m seeing in fashion right now. So I decided to go for it and make a comfy, oversized button front shirt for myself. Read more “The Most Comfy Button Front Shirt Ever!”

Latern Sleeves on a Dolman Tee!!

I love scrolling through the internet for fashion inspo! It’s pretty much how I plan my next project. Most of the time I already have a fabric in my stash that’s similar to what I want to sew. This time, I found a cute lantern sleeve sweater. I happened to have a lovely, super light weight sweater knit in my stash that I had been dying to use for something. This lantern sleeve sweater was just the thing I was looking for.

Free People Dress Dupe

Do you often find yourself searching online for fun fashion inspo to help get you out of a “funk?” Ya, me too. Thrift stores are my favorite place to go when I want to copy a look that inspired me. Let me show you how I recreated a pricey dress TWICE for a fraction of the cost!

Hidden Pocket Biker Shorts!

I’m a sucker for a simple sewing pattern and project. That’s why I love Biker shorts. They are easy to throw together and require such a small amount of fabric. They are also super practical to wear while sitting in the stifling stadium during highschool football season here in the desert where I live. The only problem is they usually don’t include pockets. Well, pockets are not something I’m willing to compromise on. No one should ever have to do that. That’s why I added a little hidden pocket to mine. It’s super easy and I’ll show you how.

How I Fixed my Mis-Match Fabric Blunder!

I really like the whole distressed and tie dyed look. Some people hate it and that’s fine. They don’t have to do it or wear it for that matter. But if you are like me and love it, then we should definitely be friends. Because you sound fun. I recently ended up with two different cuts of the same bubble gauze fabric. I would have complained but it was literally the last of it. There was no more in the store. So that’s what I got. Rather than be upset, I decided to problem solve and I’m completely obsessed with the results!! Read more “How I Fixed my Mis-Match Fabric Blunder!”
