The Cadence dress by Love Notions.  It’s a wonderfully simple pattern and great for sewists who are comfortable with quilting fabric. This Springs Most Darling Pattern- McCall’s 7969

Sometimes a sewing pattern comes along and immediately wins the hearts of all those who see it. McCall’s #7969 just happens to be that pattern. It’s what some would call “the Darling” of the sewing community. At first glance it seems like a very simple dress pattern. Nothing too extravagant and very easy to sew. I think that’s what makes it so special. It is very simple so you can choose a bright, fun fabric to set it apart from the hundreds of others out there in the sewing world. Or you can modify it a bit and add some details. It’s those details I wanted to share with you today. Read more “This Springs Most Darling Pattern- McCall’s 7969”

I love using button up shirts for refashions. There is so much fabric to play with. Plus, the button placket can be used as a design detail.

Not Your Average T-shirt Dress!

I recently inherited several gray shirts from my oldest son when he moved out. Two of them matched perfectly except one was thicker than the other. What do you do when you have two almost identical t-shirts in your size? How about combine them to make a t-shirt dress? T-shirt dresses can be kind of plain and frumpy, but not this one. It was definitely NOT going to be your average t-shirt dress. This one was going to have some upgrades. Read more “Not Your Average T-shirt Dress!”
