Adding Pockets to the Lenox Dress

When I first saw the Lenox dress pattern by Love Notions, I knew it was my kind of dress. There was just one little issue. It didn’t have pockets. No problem! Let me show how I added pockets to my Lenox Dress using a pattern I already had, with just a few simple tweeks. The great thing about this is you don’t have to have these specific patterns. You can do this with any knit dress patterns you might have in your stash already. The idea is the same. You just adjust it for you particular pattern.

Button Front Jumpsuit

I have a burgundy jumpsuit I love to wear on chilly mornings or rainy days. The problem is when it heats up even a little I can’t wear it anymore because it 1. Has long sleeves and 2. Is made of a fleece-like fabric. It looks just like a blue one I recently saw online. I wanted a jumpsuit just like it but with short sleeves and made out of fabric more suitable for warm climates. Pinsperation: Maxi Dress to Jumpsuit Refashion!

I love scrolling through pinterest and online boutiques for sewing inspiration. I feel like I fall down a different rabbit hole everytime I start tapping through pics. While on one of my favorite boutique sites I saw the most comfy and cute jumpsuit. It totally suited my vibe, but did I really need a new jumpsuit? Of course I did and I had the perfect item in my closet ready to refashion into it.

This Jacket was a Labor of Love….

It seems like I’ve been on a jacket making kick recently. Which is odd considering I only get about 4 weeks of jacket weather. It’s spring/summer the rest of the year. Nonetheless, I made 3 jackets in February. One went to my mom and the other two I put right in my own coat closet. So why not make another one? Fast and Easy: Butterick 5652 Jumpsuit!

Fast and Easy! Sometimes that’s what I’m in the mood for when deciding what to sew. Not all the time, but sometimes I just need one of those palette cleansing projects that I can throw together in an hour or so. Something I don’t have to even think about or look at the instruction in order to put together. Neckline Alteration: Mock-neck to Square neck!

I had these two Arlington shirts that I loved. The fabric was soft and comfortable and they fit just right with no pinching or pulling. I loved the band around the bottom. However, I didn’t love that they had mock turtlenecks. They look super cute when I wear them, but it’s just too hot where I live for me to be able to wear these shirts as much as I wanted to. For this reason I decided it was time to change the neckline. This is what I did.

This Jacket was so Fun I Made two!

Did I need another coat? Not really but this one was too cute to not make. I mean, come on. It has quilted options and it’s perfect for flannel which is so in right now. I just couldn’t resist the temptation. The only problem is I’m a lazy sewist and I don’t really get along that well with bias tape. For that reason I chose to make a lined Coda Jacket  my way and that means no bias tape.
