Super Cute V-neck Shirt!
The Vivace dolman pattern by Love Notions is a classic style with a unique v-neck feature with off-set pleat. I love the pleat but I really wanted to make one without to look like a shirt I saw online recently. It’s super easy to remove the pleat, I’ll show you what I did.
The Pattern….
The Vivace dolman, Pronounced ‘vee-VAH-chay’, can be made with both knit and woven fabrics and is great for a confident beginner sewist. I love it because it’s easy fitting so it will be comfy and cool all day long. It has three length options: shirt, tunic or knee-length dress. This pattern is a quick and easy sew with only five pattern pieces. A full bust piece is included for all options and comes in sizes XS-5X. You can use code KOE2024 for a discount on any of Love Notions patterns.
Removing the Pleat…
There is a sewing line marked on the front of the pattern for the pleat. To remove the pleat from this pattern I used a clean ruler and extended that line to the hem of the pattern. Then I placed that line on the fold of the fabric so I could cut it out. Then I sewed it together like the instructions said, but just omitted the instruction parts for the pleat.
Make Another one!!
I love it so much I made another one in white. It’s such a comfy and fun shirt. I love that way it looks with these jeans I made, the Largo Cargos and the Palo Jeans.
